Step 1 of 4About your car

About your car

Quotes are free and come with no obligation to sell.

Selling to us

  • Free quote, with no obligation to sell
  • Good cars: bought and picked up by us directly, as a licensed Queensland motor dealer, with payment agreed with you
  • Damaged or unwanted cars: paid in cash at collection if your car has value. If it doesn't, free removal instead.
  • Damaged or unwanted cars: free collection by our local collection partners from most of South East Queensland (we confirm it for your location)

A fire doesn't have to burn the whole car to make it uneconomical to fix. Heat and smoke can damage wiring, hoses, plastics and the interior well beyond the area that caught alight, and the repairs are often hard to price.

Tell us where the fire started, how far it spread and whether the car has been moved since. Photos of the engine bay, the interior and the outside make a real difference to the quote.

Sound familiar?

A fire in the engine bay

Fires under the bonnet often start in the wiring or fuel system and can melt hoses, looms and plastics nearby. Tell us whether it reached the cabin.

Smoke and heat damage

Even when the flames were put out quickly, smoke and heat can leave smells, melted trim and electrical faults through the car.

The insurer has written it off

Fire damage can lead to a write-off. Tell us the classification if you know it; our written-off cars page explains how Queensland classifies them.

It can't be driven or moved

A fire-damaged car may not start, steer or roll. Tell us where it is and how easy it is to reach.

What to tell us about a fire-damaged car

  • Where the fire started and how far it spread: engine bay, cabin or boot
  • When it happened
  • Whether the car has been started or moved since
  • The status of any insurance claim, and the write-off type if it has been written off
  • Photos of the engine bay, the interior and all four sides

You don't need every detail. Tell us what you know.

How it works

  1. 1

    Tell us about your car

Fill in the short form with the make, model, condition and where it is.

  2. 2

    Send photos

Add a few photos if you can. They're optional, but they help us quote more accurately.

  3. 3

    Receive a quote

We review the details and contact you with an offer, or tell you if we can't purchase the car.

  4. 4

    Accept the offer

If the offer suits you, say yes. If it doesn't, you've lost nothing.

  5. 5

    Arrange collection where applicable

Accept your quote and we'll arrange collection with one of our local collection partners. They pay you the amount we quoted, in cash, when they collect the car. If your car has no resale value, we can arrange free removal instead. Collection is free from most of South East Queensland (we confirm it for your location). Cars in good condition are different: we buy them directly, pick them up ourselves and agree the payment method with you.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to repair my car before getting a quote?

No. Tell us what's wrong with it and we'll assess it as it is. There's no need to spend money on repairs first.

What information do you need for a quote?

The make, model, year, where the car is, and what condition it's in. Photos help us give you a more accurate figure but are optional.

Is there any obligation once I ask for a quote?

Asking for a quote doesn't commit you to selling. You decide whether the offer suits you.

Will you look at a car that's badly burnt?

Yes, you can still ask for a quote. Some fire-damaged cars have little or no value. If so, we'll tell you when we quote, and we can arrange free removal instead of a payment.

My insurer is still assessing the car. Can I ask for a quote?

Yes. A quote doesn't commit you, so you can find out what the car is worth as it stands while you wait. Tell us where the claim is up to.

How would a car that can't be moved be collected?

Collection is free from most of South East Queensland. Tell us exactly where the car is and whether a tow truck can reach it, and we'll confirm collection for your location when we quote.
